The minutes of the Licensing Committee meeting held on Thursday 22 February 2018, were confirmed as a correct record.

Report of the Service Director Health and Wellbeing.

The minutes of the Licensing Committee meeting held on Thursday 22 February 2018, were confirmed as a correct record.

The Service Director Health and Wellbeing submitted the draft Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy, as amended following the public consultation, for members approval, in accordance with Minute LIC. 43 of the 25 January 2018 Licensing Committee meeting.

The Licensing Manager introduced the report and discussions took place around the approval and adoption of the revised Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy which will become effective from 1 April 2018.

Under the heading of Alcohol and Tobacco products it was decided to take out the word “immediately” prior to the word before, so now it now reads:- “Licensed drivers must not consume alcohol immediately before, or at any time whilst driving, or otherwise being in charge of a Hackney Carriage or Private Hire vehicle”.

Members noted that all Taxi Ranks and their locations (Appendix 6) will be reviewed as part of the Taxi Unmet Demand Survey later this year.

RESOLVED that the revised Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy be approved and will take effect on 1 April 2018.
