Report of the Corporate Director Environment.

The Corporate Director Environment submitted a report to the Street Scene Parks and Open Spaces Portfolio Holder seeking agreement of the outcome of the evaluation exercise for the bulky household waste collection contract, in order to award the contract.

Decisions

The Street Scene Parks and Open Spaces Portfolio Holder agreed

·         that, following the detailed evaluation process, Wyre and Blackpool Councils award the Contract for Bulky Waste collections to Calico Enterprise Ltd, Burnley Lancashire. The contract would be for a period of two years with the option to extend for a further two years subject to budget, demand and a satisfactory review. The total tender price for both councils in year one was £169,975, inclusive of premises rent with Wyre’s element being £50,993, which equates to 30%. Certain elements e.g. staff costs, would be subject to inflation in future years.

·         Wyre would also be required to contribute to vehicle costs under a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with Blackpool Council, estimated to cost £9,000 per annum.

·         to continue the arrangement based on a SLA with Blackpool Council, to jointly manage the Bulky Waste Contract.
