Report of the Street Scene, Parks and Open Spaces Portfolio Holder and Corporate Director Environment. Decision: The Corporate Director Environment submitted a report to the Street Scene, Parks and Open Spaces Portfolio Holder seeking approval to develop and deliver improvement proposals for King George’s Playing Field and the open space north of Royles Brook in Thornton.
Decisions
The portfolio holder agreed that
· the council’s 2020/21 Capital Programme be amended to include improvements to King George’s Playing Field using a grant of £16,220 secured from the Walney Extension Community Fund and £15,385 received by the council via the S106 obligation related to planning permission 14/00772/FULMAJ.
· the council would act as accountable body on behalf of Thornton Action Group for the grant from the Walney Extension Community Fund.
· procurement of a supplier(s) to undertake the improvement works be progressed and the Corporate Director Environment be authorised to appoint the supplier(s), complying with Financial Regulations and Financial Procedure Rules.
